There’s just something so classic and simple about a white dress. It’s always a chic look and in the case of this one since it’s non-maternity it works for every stage of motherhood. Especially for that awkward postpartum phase when you don’t want to wear anything too tight fitting.
One of the fun things about not finding out the gender of your baby before it’s born is that people are usually shocked and excited when they hear that you don’t know what you’re having. It seems rare these days that people wait it out but speaking from experience it is truly the best surprises you will ever have.
Bonjour! Welcome to The Modern Mère, a chic guide to motherhood. I’m so happy you’re here!
Another week closer to meeting our sweet babe! Things are definitely starting to feel more real over here.
I’m not actually feeling blue. To be honest, I’m feeling really happy and productive lately. Leave it to the third trimester of pregnancy to surprise you sometimes.
As much as I’d like to claim that my style is 100% unique it is most definitely not. For me, fashion inspiration comes from everywhere {the weather, my mood, sometimes even practicality} including the stores I shop at and the brands I love.
Before I get too far into this post I’d like you to know that we took these pictures at about 6pm after a full day of wearing this white shirt and I didn’t spill anything on it. Just want to make sure I recognize the true miracle that happened here today, #blessed. Ok, on to this weeks pregnancy update!
If we had to pick a favorite meal of the day in our house it would be whichever one involves cereal which to be honest could be any of them or all of them in the same day.
I have a serious place in my heart for pink and with spring upon us there’s no better time to refresh your wardrobe with my favorite hue.
You know that saying when life gives you lemons, make lemonade? Well the same sort of thing goes for spring in Michigan. When life gives you winter weather in April, go find somewhere warmish and wear your new spring clothes, girl!
A few weekends ago Ken and I were invited to stay at The Graduate Hotel in Ann Arbor. Never being one to turn down the opportunity for a night away I jumped at the chance and couldn’t wait to spend a little time in one of our favorite cities.
Happy Monday! Hope your Easter was hoppin’! I was going to skip doing an update this week since I’m up to my ears in other {probably} more important things but it’s the third trimester and I’ve always been a really good procrastinator so what the heck, here goes!
Earlier this week I was thinking about the meaning of Easter and how we’ve been talking with Annabelle about it. One thing we’ve stressed is that while Christmas, and the birth of our savior, is important – Easter is the real deal. There’s so much pomp and circumstance leading up to Christmas and it feels like Easter gets just a bit more than overshadowed. I’ve really been enjoying Christian music lately so I thought it would be fun to put together a playlist of a few of my favorite songs to really get into the Easter spirit.
Happy Friday, friends! I’m actually working from home today because Annabelle’s school is closed in observance of Good Friday. We’re getting very excited for Easter around here and we can’t wait to celebrate it’s true meaning, the resurrection of our Lord!
We went to our first Easter egg hunt last weekend and let me tell you, it was a hit! As the parent of a toddler you never really know how something new is going to go over. Usually when we plan something fun as a family it goes pretty well and everyone leaves happy and I’m thrilled to say making a mad dash for candy filled eggs in 40 degree weather was one of them.
Well friends, we’ve made it just about 2/3 of the way through this pregnancy. And by we I mean me because let’s be honest, I’ve been doing all of the work over here. Ken and I got away for a little staycation this weekend {more to come on that later this week} and it felt great to get out and spend a little time alone. Just Kenny, me, and this bunch of bananas in my belly. If you’d like to hear what’s been up with the bump over the past few weeks, read on…
